SUNBURY – In the midst of the recent Amnesty International endorsement of the decriminalization of the sex trade, human trafficking is being targeted along a major roadway in The Valley.

Transitions CEO Susan Mathias was on WKOK’s On The Mark program and says the organization working with other Pennsylvania organizations to put a stop to it, “We have an organization called PATH15 which is focusing on trafficking that’s occurring up and down Route 15. So we’re working with sister centers up and down Route 15 from Bradford and Tigoa County all the way down to Adams and York in the south of the state.”

Shea Rhodes, Director of Villanova Law Institute to Address Commercial Sexual Exploitation says law enforcement will now be trained for human trafficking, “In 2015 every police officer will be trained on human trafficking. That includes sex trafficking and labor trafficking, victimization of adults and children, domestic victims of trafficking, so every police officer in the commonwealth will be trained by the end of 2015 if they want to maintain their certification of being a police officer.”
