Several injuries reported in Watsontown area fire Saturday
WATSONTOWN – Two people were hurt and dozens of firefighters responded to a fully engulfed house on fire Saturday evening on Hester Drive in Delaware Township, Northumberland County. According to Union County Communications, six fire companies responded to the fire call around 5:20pm. The two-story house was said to be destroyed by the time the fire was under control. Fire officials told said the as yet unidentified occupants of the home were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
In addition to the house fire, volunteers had to contend with flames shooting from two venting propane tanks. Responding volunteers included from Northumberland County included Warrior Run, and Milton. From Union County, White Deer Township was involved at the scene, and from Lycoming County, responders included Muncy Area, Clinton Township and Montgomery volunteer fire departments.
