SUNBURY – Family members can now pickup their Hometown Veterans Banners in Sunbury. The banners were removed from lamp posts lining Front and Market Streets and have been restored.
Family members or veterans who have sponsored a Hometown Veteran Banner this year can either submit a banner for a re-hang fee for 2016, or they can keep the banner. You can contact the Sunbury Revitalization Inc. office for more information on how to get the banners, by calling 570-286-7768.
SRI is currently accepting information and photos for 2016 Hometown Veterans Banners. The banners honor both active duty and veteran soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines with roots in Northumberland County. The banners are displayed from May through November and include the veteran’s name, picture, branch of service, honors and era of service.
New banner sponsorships are $200. The banner re-hang fee is $100. Submission forms are available at the SRI Office at 249 Market Street in Sunbury. (Ali Stevens)
