LEWISBURG – Police were called early this morning after a hoax was reported in the Lewisburg School District. Superintendent Mark DiRocco says a student in Lewisburg received a text message indicating schools would be closed today due to a bomb threat.
The call originated from a student in the Watsontown Area. The district did not receive a direct bomb threat, but school administrators and staff contacted police to conduct a sweep of all school buildings early this morning. The buildings were cleared around 5:30 a.m. and schools will be operating on their normal schedule. State police were able to locate the student that sent the text message and determined it was a hoax. Sources tell us the same hoax impacted the Warrior Run School District as well and their buildings were also searched. (Ali Stevens)
