SUNBURY – The Salvation Army says it was another successful Here. For Good. campaign this past holiday season.
Despite falling short of this year’s newly raised $150,000 goal, Lieutenant Jared Starnes of the Milton Salvation Army said, “We didn’t quite meet our goal but we got as close as I think we could with how things are going with our communities and COVID. But we are very proud and grateful for everyone’s willingness to give.”
The Salvation Army says $146,524 was raised for this year’s campaign, still the second highest total raised. The highest amount came in 2020 with over $147,000 raised, meaning the highest totals took place during the pandemic.
Major Tammy Hench of Sunbury/Shamokin Salvation Army says those who benefited also thank everyone who contributed, “They were so thankful, very appreciate, and that it would be very helpful to them, that they could take care of something else and not worry much about Christmas.”
The Here. For Good. campaign is sponsored by Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation, The Daily Item and Mifflinburg Bank and Trust.
