Hearing scheduled for former Shamokin school board VP

MILTON – A hearing for former Shamokin school board Vice President Ron McElwee has been set. The office of Magisterial District Judge Michael Diehl tells WKOK the hearing will take place Wednesday, January 10 at 9:30 a.m. The case will be heard by Judge Diehl.

McElwee was charged earlier this month for allegedly attacking a man with an electric stun gun in November. He faces felony charges of aggravated assault, two counts of criminal conspiracy, use or possession of an electronic incapacitation device, and other charges.

McElwee resigned from his school board position December 16. He serves as treasurer of the Coal City Revitalization board as well. McElwee also just ran an unsuccessful campaign for Northumberland County prothonotary. (Matt Catrillo)
