Teen’s attempted murder hearing delayed

court-hammer-gavel1MIFFLINBURG – A hearing has been delayed for a Mifflinburg teen charged with attempted homicide of a police officer.  Sean Patrick Sellers was due in Franklin County Court this week, but the hearing was delayed until March 13.  The hearing was to determine if Seller’s case should be moved out of adult court and into juvenile court.

Sellers was charged as an adult when he was 16, after police say he exchanged gunfire with a state trooper in Franklin County on January 4, 2014.  Police tried to stop Sellers’ vehicle for a traffic offense on Interstate 81, when he allegedly pulled out a .22-caliber pistol and fired at a state trooper.  The trooper fired back and Sellers surrendered.  No injuries were reported.  Police learned Sellers stole the vehicle and the gun from a residence in Mifflinburg.  He faces multiple charges for the incident.  (Ali Stevens)
