ALLENWOOD — A massive response to a hay fire in Allenwood Thursday. The Warrior Run Fire Department arrived on scene shortly before 4 p.m. and found a wall of hay bales burning near the Allenwood prison complex.
Crews worked for five hours to extinguish the fire. Multiple crews responded to the fire including those from White Deer, Milton, Pottsgrove, Lewisburg as well as Lycoming County fire departments.
Warrior Run Fire Department says the Lycoming County landfill provided a tanker and excavator to assist with the operation. 700 bales of hay were affected. (Jennifer Wakeman)
