SELINSGROVE – A hammer was the likely instrument used to kill a Selinsgrove woman last weekend. A search warrant filed Thursday in Snyder County court says a hammer with blood and hair on it was found in the Wochley home at 606 Ninth Street in Selinsgrove.
Officer Francis Petrovich, the first officer on the scene reported finding Kenneth Wochley alive, but unconscious seated in a chair in the living room. Prescription pill bottles were nearby and Wochley’s face, hands and clothing had blood on them. The hammer was found immediately behind Wochley.
Ann Wochley’s body was on the floor, covered by a blanket. Officer Petrovich reported that wounds on Mrs. Wochley’s head were semi-circular and could have been caused by a hammer. An autopsy revealed Wochley died of blunt force trauma. Kenneth Wochley was taken to Geisinger Medical Center and remains in critical condition. He is the only person of interest in the death of his wife.
