HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania’s second most famous groundhog is back on the job. Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko says Gus the Groundhog went into semi-retirement in early 2012 after a nearly eight-year run as the instant game advertising mascot. In the years since, lottery players said they missed Gus and wanted him to return. Svitko said Gus is a “Pennsylvania Lottery institution.”
Gus will return to television airwaves this week as part of the Lottery’s holiday season advertising campaign and players will see more of Gus in the coming months. (Ali Stevens)
