‘Bob’ Mattis campaigns for NorCo judge

bob-web-4SUNBURY — A Shamokin lawyer, seeking a judgeship in Northumberland County, is on the campaign trail. H. Robert Mattis, Jr is a candidate for Common Pleas Court judge in Northumberland County. Mattis is a graduate of Shamokin Area High School, Franklin and Marshall College and New York University School of Law. He practices Family Law in Shamokin.

Mattis says listening and understanding are important qualities for a judge, “I’m a firm believer that the free flow of information is what’s critical for the proper outcome in any case. You have to listen, you have to understand them.”

Mattis is knocking on doors and meeting voters across the county. He says that while the three candidates are from the eastern end of Northumberland County, he would be a judge for the entire county, “Every area of the county’s important and the folks up here have to know that, at least for me, I want to be the judge for everybody.”

Two seats will be open on the court as judge Tony Rosini’s interim term expires and president judge William Wiest reaches the mandatory retirement age. You can hear all of Robert Mattis’ comments from WKOK Sunrise at wkok.com (Jennifer Wakeman)
