Geisinger to Build $32 Million Cancer Center near Lewisburg

LEWISBURG — Geisinger is expanding cancer care in Union County with a new $32 million center near Bucknell University.  Dr. Rajiv Panikkar said the expansion ensures patients receive top-tier care without leaving the region.

Panikkar explained, “We know cancer cases are rising in our area and we want to build the cancer program that our community needs now and for years to come. I think the opportunity to continue to provide the highest quality of services right in our neighbors back yard, rather than having them travel to get things done, is critically important. This new project with this new building is going to make that real.”

The two-story, 40,000-square-foot facility along Route 15 will open in 2026, offering expanded oncology, hematology, radiation, and palliative care services. The new center will replace Geisinger’s current site in Kelly Township and improve access to advanced treatments.
