Geisinger, Evangelical Named ‘High-Performing’ by U.S. News and World Report

DANVILLE – Evangelical Community Hospital and Geisinger have been recognized for their high performance in the 2023-24 U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Hospitals” ranking. This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures and Conditions ratings.

Evangelical says it was named as a High Performing Hospital for spinal fusion, hip replacement, knee replacement, and stroke.

Geisinger says its Danville campus was given the recognition for its high performance in lung surgery, hip replacement, and colon cancer surgery. Geisinger says it also received a high ranking in caring for heart failure, heart attacks and strokes.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.
