Geisinger Easing Masking, Patient Care Areas Still Masked

DANVILLE – Geisinger is beginning to ease its masking requirements. Geisinger announced this week employees, patients and visitors will only be required to wear a mask ‘during interactions with their care team in patient care areas,’ like exam rooms or patient rooms.

Geisinger says it made the decision to start easing masking requirements after considering the latest CDC guidance and current community spread of COVID-19. Geisinger says it will continue monitoring community transmission and follow CDC guidance to make appropriate adjustments to its masking policies.

Evangelical Community Hospital announced in February it was no longer requiring masking in the Hospital or any of its facilities.
