Danville – About $142,000 has been raised to keep the Montour Preserve open to the public, but plenty more is needed for the years to come. The Montour Area Recreation Commission says they will need to raise about $1-million to pay for the next ten years of anticipated expenses.
MARC has established a fund at the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation to allow donors to make contributions to support the Montour Preserve using a credit card or PayPal account. You can do that at www.csgiving.org. The Montour Area Recreation Commission has taken over management and maintenance of the preserve after Talen Energy acquired the land from PPL. (Ali Stevens)
