SUNBURY — The Sunbury Fire Department does a lot to help the community, and they are hoping the community will help them in return.  Two fundraisers will aid in fire fighting expenses.

Dan Saxton is organizer of the Mustang Raffle fundraiser, “This year we are very happy we are promoting the 50th anniversary of the Mustang Fastback.  It’s a really sharp car this year.  It’s yellow with a black interior.  There are less than 170 tickets out of the 500 total being sold.  They’ve been coming in pretty steady now, and I expect these to sell out long before the end of the raffle, simply because it is the 50th anniversary Mustang.”  You can learn more about the raffle at SFDmustangraffle.net.

The Mustang will be at another upcoming fundraiser — the Good Will Hose Company “Mayfair.”  Lisa Portzline is helping to organize that event, “We have vendors of all kinds coming.  Lots of food, crafters, we have some organizations who are just bringing some display information.  The playground is a wonderful site.  We will also have a big slide and a bounce house.  The public can come out and have some great food, look at some crafts and help support the local economy by buying local, buying from the vendors who have decided to come out and support the Good Will Hose Company.”

Mayfair will be at the playground at 6th and Line Streets on May 22 and 23.  Vendors are still needed.  You can find more information about the fair and how to become a vendor by clicking Fire Department at Cityof Sunbury.com.  You can also learn more about both fundraisers by downloading Tuesday’s WKOK Sunrise program.  (Codi Jade)
