Fundraiser will benefit Selinsgrove student

Logan HileSELINSGROVE – An upcoming fundraiser will benefit a Selinsgrove student hospitalized at Hershey Medical Center.  Proceeds from the 9th annual Bill Hoover Memorial Quizzo Tournament will benefit Logan Hile and his family.  15-year-old Logan, a freshman at Selinsgrove High School, is in critical condition following complications from influenza B.

In the past, the tournament has benefitted the Save Shikellamy 5th Grade Camp Fund. That group will still receive a monetary donation. Additionally, a collection of nonperishable food items at the tournament will go to the Shikellamy backpack program. The tournament is scheduled for July 18 at the Hotel Edison in Sunbury.

The event honors Bill Hoover, a life-long Sunbury resident and teacher from the Shikellamy School District who passed away in February of 2008, after a long battle with cancer.  Jayme Hile, Logan’s mother, is a Shikellamy graduate and special friend to Bill Hoover.  She is a nurse and helped care for him prior to his death.  To make a donation, you can visit their Facebook page at 9th Annual Bill Hoover Memorial Quizzo Tournament.
