NEW BERLIN – A fundraiser is set for Sunday to provide scholarships to local students wanting to attend Penn State. Tony Barnasconi is secretary of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Penn State Alumni Chapter, “Our main goal is to provide scholarship funds to kids from the Susquehanna Valley who attend Penn State University. Annually we give away $8,000 in scholarships.”
He explained the fundraiser they are hosting, “At the American Legion in New Berlin, it will be downstairs in their banquet room. Doors open at one and it gets underway at two. There is an early bird game at 1:45. Twenty-five bucks gets you in the door for 20 games of bingo. There is an awesome Coach purse as a prize for every game of bingo. There are three special games.”
