MOUNT CARMEL – A fund has been set up to financially assist a firefighter seriously injured while battling a fire Monday in Mount Carmel. The fund is for James Reed Sr., who is in critical condition at Lehigh Valley Burn Unit.
Reed was pulled from one of seven homes involved in a fire Monday in the 200 block of Walnut Street. To donate to the Reed fund, you can go to www.youcaring.com and search James Reed Sr. Members of American Hose & Chemical Company set up the authorized account.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and five families were left homeless following the blaze.
