LEWISBURG – A dangerous fugitive from Philadelphia was captured by U.S. Marshals in Lewisburg Thursday. 29-year-old Khalif Levan was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other offenses in an August 12 shooting in Philadelphia.
Marshals learned Levan was staying with a friend in Lewisburg. At 1p.m. Thursday, marshals arrested Levan without incident at a residence in the 200 block of South Seventh Street. He was transported to the Union County Courthouse to await arraignment before district judge Leo Armbruster. The U.S. Marshals Service was assisted by the Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department.
