SUNBURY – Following his firing, former Shikellamy High School principal Ernie Jackson is ready to appeal. His attorneys, Kymberly Best and Tim Bowers, say they will appeal to the court of common pleas in Northumberland County. They also plan to file a civil suit in federal court.
Also, following abundant monetary support from community members, Jackson’s legal team has decided to give half of their donations back to the school district to help offset the legal bills… in order to benefit taxpayers.
Best says the legal fees will add up, as it could become a lengthy court battle. The district is reportedly paying their attorney $200 an hour. Bowers says the Shikellamy School District is also planning to challenge Jackson’s unemployment compensation. That hearing is scheduled for February 2. (Codi Jade)
