A Montour County man who helped see the Danville area through the Agnes flooding in 1972 as a County Commissioner has died. 91 year old Thomas Herman died on Tuesday at his home. Herman, a 1951 Danville High graduate served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and spent decades as a dairy farmer and during part of that time was the owner of Frosty Valley Dairy Jug Milk during the 1960s and 1970s. In his younger years, he worked at TRW in Danville according to information provided in his obituary. Herman was on the board of county commissioners from 1972 through 1988 before taking a state agricultural job, but returned for two terms in the late 90s until 2004. A walk through celebration of life is taking place this weekend followed by private burial at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
