WILLIAMSPORT – A former Pennsylvania congressman has died. 79-year-old Allen Ertel died Thursday at Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Ertel represented the 17th Congressional District from 1977 to 1983, which included Williamsport and Harrisburg.
He also served as the Lycoming County District Attorney prior to his position in congress. Ertel ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1982 and state attorney general in 1984. (Ali Stevens)
