SHAMOKIN DAM – A fundraiser is set for this Saturday that will feature some fun fitness activities to benefit furry friends. The Haven to Home Canine Rescue Fitness Fundraiser will be from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m. this Saturday at the Sunset Skating Rink in Shamokin Dam.
Nicole Hoffman is one of the organizers and says there will be lots of fitness to choose from including Zumba, Hip Hop, and Insanity. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Haven to Home, where people can be foster parents to pets in need.
Hoffman said, “They match people up to dogs and don’t just hand them over. They really check with you and look into matching people up because they don’t want that dog to have to come back. They want to make sure that match is going to stay and that everyone is compatible.”
If you are not interested in participating in the fitness activities, she said you could just stop by and donate items such as dog food, dog treats, paper towels, garbage bags, leashes, harnesses, and flea meds. You can find out more on their website at www.haventohome.org. (Ali Stevens)
