SUNBURY—A free fishing day is coming up in May for the youngest anglers. Little Shamokin Creek Watershed Association will be hosting their annual Youth Trout Derby on May 14. Children ages three to twelve can spend the day trout fishing on Little Shamokin Creek.
The derby will be held near Hallowing Run Road and extends 1.1 miles downstream. There will be free gifts for the first 300 children registered. There is no fee for participation. Kids under ten must be accompanied by an adult. Registration for the derby opens at the pavilion on Houser Road at 7:30 am. Fishing starts at 9:00 am. Any youth under age ten must be accompanied by an adult. (Alex Reichenbach)
