Fire Demonstration at Danville High School

DANVILLE – Look for more fire apparatus on the Danville high school campus this afternoon.

You’ll see the fire trucks and volunteers as the high school’s Fire Club gets another demonstration and learning opportunity.

Today, volunteers will be teaching the club hydrant connections and tank filling, drawing water from a portable tank, using handline hoses, and other aspects of water use during firefighting.

During this afternoon, passersby on Route 11 may see the activity—it is part of the demonstration of the fire service to the fire club at the school. Recently, they filled the gym with misty smoke to demonstrate low and no visibility activities.

Volunteers in the Danville area are nurturing the Danville Fire Club in the hopes of bolstering the ranks of young people in the volunteer fire service.
