COAL TWP — Volunteers are responding to a fire in Coal Township. Northumberland County Communications tell us the fire is at a home at 161 Iron Street in Excelsior. The fire was reported around 4:15p.m. By 4:30p.m. it reached its third alarm. Fire fighters from across Northumberland County were still on the scene at 8:00p.m.
Route 901 was closed for several hours. The road reopened around 7:45p.m. Emergency Services are still on the scene. No word on injuries. We will update you with more details as they become available. (Codi Jade)
