MIDDLEBURG – A Selinsgrove man was acquitted in the alleged beating of his infant son. A 12-person jury found 31-year-old Mahmoud Ibrahim not guilty of aggravated assault,endangering the welfare of child and simple assault charges.
Ibrahim has been locked up in the Snyder County Prison since his arrest in October of 2013. Medical examiners claimed Ibrahim beat his 4-month old son, causing a brain injury. The baby has since recovered. Defense experts claim the baby could have had blood clot, which caused the brain injury.
The jury aquitted Ibrahim Thursday on three of four charges he faced. He still faces a charge of reckless endangerment.
