MAHONING TWP – A former police chief will appeal his firing at a public hearing. Chad Thomas was fired as Mahoning Township police chief after pleading guilty to huffing compressed air while on the job.
The Press Enterprise reports Thomas has the right to a public hearing under the Police Tenure Act. The hearing will take place Thursday, August 25 at 10 a.m. in the township building. Supervisors will hear the appeal and make a final decision. The hearing is open to the public.
