EconomicsPA leader announces retirement

fritzSELINSGROVE – After 21-years on the job, the president and CEO of Economics Pennsylvania is retiring. Fritz Heinemann made the decision in August to step down from his post and he sat down with WKOK for an exclusive interview.

Heinemann says his decision to retire was not planned, “I always knew there would be a time, but it wasn’t calendar, it wasn’t anything. I just knew.”

Heinemann says he won’t participate in the search to find his replacement. He is leaving that in the hands of the board of directors, “You’re volunteers, you know this organization, you know what we need. You know where we’ve been, you know where we are and I hope you know where we’re going.”

Heinemann moved the offices of EconomicsPA out of Harrisburg to Selinsgrove about 15 years ago, “I think the offices should remain in Selinsgrove. I would hope they would.”

Heinemann will step down at the end of 2016 and plans to remain in his “beloved Kratzerville.” You can listen to the complete interview with Heinemann at wkok.com. (Jennifer Wakeman)
