LEWISBURG – East Buffalo Township supervisors made an attempt at a housing compromise Monday. Henry Baylor, Jr. made a motion to reduce the density of residential development at Penn House Commons by 20%. That would reduce the maximum units from 180 to 144 on the 9 acre property. Supervisors voted unanimously in favor of the motion.
Township solicitor Peter Matson will draft an ordinance based on the supervisors’ vote. The proposed ordinance will be read publicly at the September 14 supervisors meeting.
Tom Zorn, supervisor chairman, told WKOK Meridian Development Partners has not yet submitted any plan for either commercial or residential use of the property. The East Buffalo Planning Commission voted in May to change the zoning from multi-use to commercial to prevent additional residential development. (Jennifer Wakeman)
