LEWISBURG — The Daily Item is reporting… East Buffalo Township supervisors approved a zoning change that starts the process of allowing Geisinger to build a $32 million cancer center. The 2-1 vote permits health care facilities in the Highway Commercial Zoning District along Route 15.
Supervisors Jim Knight and Tom Zorn supported the ordinance, while Katie Evans voted no due to traffic safety concerns. Township leaders said they were initially deceived and ‘lied to’ about the project. The public questioned PennDOT’s traffic estimates and the site’s safety. The Daily Item reports the cancer center still needs zoning approval and building permits.
