Drug take back in Northumberland County

pills meds FEATSUNBURY — The Northumberland County Sheriff’s office will be collecting unused and unwanted pills this month. Expired or unwanted pills can be brought to the sheriff’s office Saturday, October 22 during the Take Back event.

Last April, more than 447 tons of prescription drugs were collected across the country by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.

The Take Back event will take place from 10 a.m to 2 p.m on Saturday, October 22. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
