IRISH VALLEY – Reports say a fatal accident in Northumberland County is still under investigation. The Shamokin News Item reports that an unidentified 19-year old man from Dornsife died in an accident along Schoolhouse Road Saturday afternoon in the Irish Valley section of Shamokin Township.
Reports say the man was driving near Dogwood Road when his vehicle went off the roadway, struck a tree and went down an embankment into a small creek. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Northumberland County coroner James Kelley.
Police continue their investigation and the identity of the man is unknown. We’ll bring you more details as they become available. (Sara Lauver)
