SHAMOKIN DAM— State troopers are out with their statement about the capture of one of the men involved in the Shamokin Dam robbery last Monday.
State police say that on September 25, 38 -year-old Michael Rodenizer of Berwick and 39-year-old David Bobe of Berwick, fled southbound on Route 11/15 from Sterner’s Coin Shop after the robbery. Troopers say the driver, Rodenizer, tried to make a turn onto Verdilla Road, lost control of the vehicle and struck a guide rail, disabling the vehicle.
The suspects then fled on foot with Rodenizer eventually being apprehended, but Bobe got away and is still at large. Both Rodenizer and Bobe have been charged with felony robbery, conspiracy and aggravated assault.
Rodenizer has been held in the Snyder County prison parole violation since Monday.
Shamokin Dam Police says Rodenizer and Bobe allegedly stole gold, coins and currency from the store. Police say they have recovered all of the items taken during the robbery.
