SUNBURY — A Democratic candidate for the state house 107th district is hoping he will defeat incumbent Kurt Masser (R-107th, Elysburg). Michael Krankowski was a guest on WKOK Sunrise on Tuesday morning.
Krankowski said, “I’m hoping I can pull the big upset off. I mean, I’m the underdog coming into this race. You know, I’m not a millionaire. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Daddy didn’t give me a business to run. I worked my whole life. I had a single Mom who worked her whole life. I’m just like everybody else. I am not a politician. I’m going to try to be a statesman. A representative like Bob Belfanti.”
Krankowski was asked about why he is running for state representative, “We don’t need another politician with these white collar gangsters down in Harrisburg. We don’t need that anymore. We need someone who is going to fight for the people, who is going to bring a piece of the pie back to this area, who is going to do something for this area….who is not going to take money from the gas industry or be bought by his party.”
He was also questioned by WKOK’s Mark Lawrence about allegations that he left his two-year-old child alone in an unlocked running car several days before the primary election. Krankowski said, “I absolutely did not leave a kid in a car alone. I have a videotape. Now think about this, let’s do the math here. If I really left a two year old in a car unattended, unlocked and running, two weeks before an election, nice timing right, you don’t think I would be in jail? I got a twenty-five dollar fine for that. Is that the going rate in Northumberland County, a twenty-five dollar fine for that? I had a friend with me. It’s right on the camera.”
