SHAMOKIN DAM – Motorists encountered major travel delays on Routes 11 southbound, 15 southbound, and 61 northbound in Monroe Township, Snyder County, due to a Shamokin Dam Borough maintenance project. According to 511PA, traffic has returned to its normal patterns in that area as of about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.
As of 10:45 AM, PennDOT reported traffic back ups along Route 15 southbound past Grangers Road and near County Line Road, Route 11 southbound at the Route 11/15 split, and Route 61 (Veterans Memorial Bridge) northbound.
PennDOT also says maintenance crews will be working on the Veterans Memorial Bridge until 2 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. The right lane will be closed.
