BLOOMSBURG – A murder trial began in Columbia County on Thursday for a Bloomsburg man charged with stabbing to death a Selinsgrove man. Trial began for Brett Woodside, who is accused of stabbing and killing Brandon Burns of Selinsgrove in July 2013, after an evening of drinking at Woodside’s home.
Police say Woodside stabbed Burns with a 3 ½-inch folding knife at his home near Bloomsburg. Burns was taken to Bloomsburg Hospital, but died a short time later. Testimony will continue today and the trial could end today. (Ali Stevens)
