DANVILLE –The future is bright…in Danville. Business and community leaders met recently to learn more about the future of downtown Danville. Jim Wilson of the Danville Business Alliance encouraged attendees to use the evening to connect and discuss opportunities for development in the downtown.
During his presentation, Wilson highlighted successful programs that will continue this year such as the façade grant program, which has helped fund nearly $300,000 in renovations to downtown buildings. The successful upper floors project will also continue, creating high-end residential apartments on the second and third floors of Mill Street buildings.
A new committee formed to research the possibility of a community arts center in the old Capitol Theater. A video promoting Danville’s downtown and communities premiered at the gathering and will be seen on the DBA website and YouTube. (Jennifer Wakeman)
