DANVILLE – A Danville man has been charged with threatening two men with a machete on Tuesday evening. Montour County district attorney Rebecca Warren says 52-year-old Gerardo Gonzales-Ortiz was charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault and terroristic threats as well as a summary harassment charge. He was sent to the Montour County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Police say Gonzales-Ortiz was swinging the machete at the men after chasing them on Mill Street around 6:15 p.m. The 18-inch-long machete was recovered by police. The two men were not injured in the incident. (Ali Stevens)
