Dancing with the Stars returns to Lewisburg

Dancing-with-the-Stars-for-the-Aphasia-Center~~element76LEWISBURG – If you enjoy watching Dancing with the Stars on television, you can see a local version in Lewisburg on Saturday.  The local competition debuted last year to raise money for the Central Pennsylvania Aphasia Center and the event was very popular, so the organizers are doing it again.  This year, the event will be held at the Silver Moon Banquet Hall in Lewisburg.

Organizer Tara Michaels says they have six couples performing this year, “We have Ann Keeler Evans, a pastor from the area.  She will be dancing with Sue Jamison.  They are friends and do local dancing together.  Jeff and Beth Shaffer will also dance.  Jeff is with the Central PA Chamber of Commerce. “

Other dancers include Kyle Winans and Lura Wasileski-Good, Abe and Lynne Howard, John and Wendy Rowe and Bob and Pam Conner.  Kyle is the only dancer to return to the competition, but with a different partner this year.

All proceeds from the event will support the Central Pennsylvania Aphasia Center, a non-profit organization in Danville helping people suffering from Aphasia.  Aphasia is a communication disorder resulting in damage to the speech, usually due to stroke or a brain injury.  Find out more about Aphasia and the Dancing with the Stars fundraiser online at www.aphasiacenterpa.org.
