PORT TREVORTON – Snyder County’s weekend pursuit fatality is still under investigation. Snyder County District Attorney Mike Piecuch says he will be reviewing the deadly crash that followed a state police pursuit on Saturday morning. Piecuch tells WKOK state police will also do an internal investigation and he will review those findings.
The D.A. says there is no evidence that state police were negligent, and that they terminated the pursuit of 31-year-old Jeremiah Herrold, before he crashed his vehicle into a tree on Produce Road. Herrold was taken to Geisinger Medical Center, but died a short time later.
State police say they were chasing Herrold for speeding through Selinsgrove. Troopers say they tried to stop Herrold on Market Street in Selinsgrove and Route 35 towards Freeburg, but then stopped their pursuit. (Ali Stevens)
