Culver wants balanced budget with no tax increase

lyndaHARRISBURG – Republican lawmakers continue to express concerns about Governor Wolf’s tax plan. Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-108th, Sunbury) says some of the Governor’s concession were a step in the right direction, “I’m glad to see sales tax was moved off the table, but the personal income tax is way too high. Our constituents are saying it’s  not time to raise taxes.”

Culver says she wants to see a balanced budget with no increase in taxes on Pennsylvania’s families, “It’s not just seniors struggling to pay their taxes, it’s everyday working people with children in the schools that are really struggling to, make ends meet, put food on the table and pay their taxes in addition to that.”

The House voted 127-73 against the Governor’s tax proposal. Pennsylvania has been without a budget since July 1. (Jennifer Wakeman)
