PennDOT Issues CSVT Southern Section Update, More Blasting Soon

SNYDER COUNTY – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announces updates on construction activities on the Southern Section of the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) project in Snyder County.

Major earthwork is ongoing on the Southern Section of the CSVT. The contractor, Trumbull Corporation, will continue blasting operations needed to perform excavation throughout the project.  Blasting can usually be expected between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM Monday through Friday. Typically, there will only be a single blast per day in a work area.  Earthwork operations including blasting are expected to be completed during the summer of 2024 with all work on the contract to be completed in 2025.

Structure work is beginning.  The contactor, Walsh Construction Company, is beginning to construct the two-span bridge that will carry CSVT over Grangers Road.  The contractor will build bridges at nine locations and will build sound walls at four locations. The structure work will continue throughout the years 2024/2025.
