UPDATE: Some CSVT South Lanes Now Open, North Lanes Fully Open

New traffic patterns implemented along Ridge Road in Point Township, Northumberland County. Motorists here can access the highway in both directions, or continue onto the new Route 405.

PennDOT Flaggers are rerouting traffic to Route 405 along the outgoing Route 147.

PennDOT crews are still finishing work on the southbound lanes of Route 147 coming down from Milton, before the new Ridge Road interchange.

POINT TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – Traffic is now flowing along most of the CSVT Northern Section, as PennDOT continues implementing new traffic patterns.

PennDOT opened the northbound lanes of the new Route 147 to traffic around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. PennDOT then opened a portion of the southbound lanes around 11 a.m. between the new Ridge Road interchange in Northumberland County and Route 15 in Union County, meaning the river bridge is now open in both directions.

The remaining portion of the southbound lanes of the new roadway – traffic entering from existing Route 147 south from Milton – will open Friday.

As of 10 a.m., a low volume of traffic was accessing the new highway. This comes as PennDOT is also still implementing the new traffic patterns.

There is a flagger in place at the intersection of Routes 147 and 405 to make sure traffic doesn’t continue along the outgoing Route 147,  as that part is now closed.

At Ridge Road and old Route 147, there is warning signage to have traffic turn right onto Ridge Road to access Route 147 north along the new highway.
