VALLEY TWP – Three people were taken to the hospital after a one-car crash in Valley Township Sunday. State police say 32-year-old Branden Birth of Millville was driving west on Route 642 just after midnight when he lost control of his car.
The vehicle left the roadway in the area of Klondike Road. It struck a utility pole and a wooden fence before rolling over and striking another pole. Birth and his passengers, 24-year-old Lindsey Schell of Danville and 22-year-old Mitchell Dent of Westfield were all taken to the hospital by Liberty Valley EMS.
Schell is listed in critical condition at Geisinger Medical Center and Birth is in fair condition. Dent was treated and released. The accident closed Route 642 between Klein Road and Landau Road for much of the morning Sunday. PPL reported that 475 homes were without power until about 9:45 a.m.
