
RALPHO TWP — A Sunbury man was killed in a crash Thursday morning in Ralpho Township, Northumberland County. Ralpho Township police say the 29-year-old man was driving his pickup truck on Route 487 near Monastery Road just before 3:00 a.m. Northumberland County Coroner James Kelley says the victim’s name will not be released until family members can be notified.
Police say the Sunbury man drove off the road for unknown reasons and struck a ditch. The vehicle flipped several times and the driver was thrown from the truck. Kelley said the man died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head, neck and chest. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Elysburg Fire Company assisted Ralpho Township police at the scene of the accident. (Ali Stevens)
