SUNBURY – More than $2-million in outstanding court payments have been collected in Northumberland County. The Cost Collection Task Force met their goal for 2015 on Thursday.
Of the $2-million collected, $280,000 is restitution due to crime victims. Adult Probation Chief Jim Cortelyou says, “Victims of crime should no longer feel as if they are forgotten in Northumberland County.”
Since the task force’s inception in 2014, 1377 open dockets have been removed from the case load. (Jennifer Wakeman)
