WASHINGTON DC – ‘We’ve got to lower the temperature of the political rhetoric in the US these days,’ that was one of the remarks on WKOK over the noon hour Sunday, during the Meet the Press broadcast, US Congressman Dan Meuser said there is a lot of blame to go around, “We all need to take a responsibility to cool things down. To say what we mean, but don’t say it mean. To not get personal, to have dialogue, rather than attacks.”
The congressman noted that Pres. Trump has been vilified, but, he says he’s seen the nation pulling together since the shooting, “I heard from President Biden, and the words I’ve gotten from fellow members, democrats, I actually heard from Gov. Josh Shapiro immediately as I was leaving (he asked) ‘hey, what happened, what can we do, do we have enough state troopers there (who did a wonderful job as well). Just really sincere and caring about correcting this to the best of our abilities.”
Congressman Meuser was near Pres. Trump during the incident, as was GOP US Senate candidate Dave McCormick.
