Concini toy drive underway in Northumberland

NORTHUMBERLAND – A holiday toy drive in honor of a former Northumberland police chief is back for another year in the borough. The Concini Toy Drive is underway, in memory of the late Chief Martin Concini Jr. He started a Christmas toy program for kids, which ended with his death in 1992. But since 1998, the Northumberland Police Department has been collecting toys for the less fortunate in his memory.

Chief Cliff Kriner tells us unwrapped toys can be dropped off at four different locations starting Black Friday:

  • Northumberland Police Station or Borough Office
  • Priestley/Forsyth Library on King Street
  • Northumberland National Bank on Front Street
  • Surplus Outlet on Route 11

Since 1998, the program has grown considerably and it has been assisting families in Northumberland, Point Township, Sunbury, and many other communities.
